School-Wide Positive Behaviour

At Officer Primary School, we actively promote a culture of positive behaviour through our School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) program, which is designed to create a safe and supportive learning environment for all students. The framework encourages expected behaviours by clearly defining our core values: gratitude, respect, outstanding, wellbeing, teamwork and honesty. Teachers and staff consistently model these values, and students are recognized for their positive actions through a variety of incentives, such as “GROWTH” awards and classroom praise. Regular lessons focus on social-emotional learning, helping students develop important skills like empathy and conflict resolution. Additionally, we hold school assemblies to celebrate collective achievements and reinforce the importance of a positive school community. This proactive approach not only enhances student behaviour but also fosters a sense of belonging and responsibility, empowering our learners to contribute positively both in and out of the classroom.
